Our Mission is Simple...
That one heart would come to know or grow in Christ.
Two guys that love the bible, having fun and going off script invite you into their bible study they have been doing together for over 10 years! Instead of reading a whole chapter at a time, they bite off a small piece of scripture that they can dive into for around 30 minutes or less. Using their innate curiosity and the help of their Life Application bible footnotes, their bible study is refreshing and fun! They are not bible scholars by any means but just two regular, everyday guys who turned their bible study from an obligation or Christian duty into a fun time that they look forward to and actually grow closer to God during! Their hope is that it will provide you with a refreshing way to get into God’s word, help you see how using the Life Application bible can help you gain further insight into the scriptures and maybe prompt you to find a friend or two that you can do a similar style of bible study on your own! Our tempo in each episode is to: * Open with prayer * Read a small bite of scripture * See if there are any verses that pop out to us or we have any inspired insight on. * Read the Life Application footnotes for the scripture that was read and discuss what was shared and/or any ”ah ha” moments! * Close in prayer. Give us a listen and we guarantee you will have some fun with us (or at least be able to poke some fun at us)! Be great and enjoy the gift of today! :) Proverbs 27:17 Shout out to Dmitrii Kolesnikov providing rights to the intro/exit music at https://pixabay.com/users/the_mountain-3616498/

Episode 38 is only 2 verses but packs a punch as one of the most powerful episodes yet! Those Crazy Bible Study Guys unpack the phrase "but small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life" utilizing the analogy of Jesus being a Sherpa (a Nepali Tibetan guide that leads climbers on the dangerous summits to the peak of Mt Everest) to life's Mt Everest.
An unexpected talk with God ensues as Those Crazy Bible Study Guys provide an example of what a simple, heartfelt prayer of how to ask Jesus into your heart and be the Sherpa of your life's journey! They further strengthen this episode reminding us this is an individual decision from the heart that can't be done to please others but to start your personal relationship with Christ!
Don't miss this powerful, moving episode with Those Crazy Bible Study Guys that could change your life forever and for eternity!

In Episode 37, Those Crazy Bible Study Guys are reminded that praying for hitting the lottery may very well be like praying for snakes. Praying for these types of wants may not be what we need from God! They emphasize the importance of seeking God's perspective and understanding that His timing is always perfect, even if it doesn't align with our immediate desires.
Those Crazy Bible Study Guys also share practical advice on maintaining a prayer journal as a way to see how God is answering so many prayers in our life and, in fact, answering in ways so much more awesome than we could ever imagine!
Tune in now and be inspired to ask, seek, and knock with a heart aligned to God's will!

Episode 36 hits to the core of our heart as Those Crazy Bible Study Guys dive further into Jesus' Sermon on the Mount to find that when judging others we may actually be judging our own faults and shortcomings! This episode serves as a vital reminder in a judgmental age to avoid judging a book by its cover and underscores the importance of getting to know somebody's background better to get a deeper understanding while also getting our own house in order before helping others with theirs. Dale throws in a great analogy of how we look at sin like a bar graph where some sins appear bigger than others while God looks down and only sees the top of the bar graph (aka all are sins seen equally...a sin is a sin is a sin).
Join Those Crazy Bible Study Guys as they gain wisdom and reminders from Jesus on discernment and the intricate balance of offering helpful feedback and passing judgment. They importantly underscore the detrimental impact of judging others without self-reflection. After all, it may be our own issue that we may be passing judgment on!

While you may be worried about how good Episode 35 is, there is always a potential concern, but no worries! :) Those Crazy Bible Study Guys dig deep into one of the biggest challenges of the human race: worry! These 10 verses pack a punch on how worry not only impacts us physically and emotionally but, even more tragic, is the impact it has on growing our relationship with God. This episode is a great reminder of how God has us covered today, wants us to have concerns (because those drive action to plan and respond) but does not want us paralyzed by worry! Join Those Crazy Bible Study Guys as they too learn from God's reminder that He has what we need DAILY, seven practical reasons not to worry and another "mic drop" comes from Dale that is a great reminder that when worry sets in..."Don't be consumed by the doom!" and let tomorrow take care of itself.

In Episode 34, Those Crazy Bible Study Guys dive into the topic of money...in particular, money with a capital M! The fact that our walk with Jesus is a daily thing, there is no wonder why the number one competitor for making God #1 in our life is money! As they dive deeper into this topic they discover the #1 tool for putting money into the proper perspective is to practice contentment. Not deprivation, but contentment - setting and going towards new goals while being content in the current moment.
Like any other tool/resource in our life, money can be compared to a brick - it can be a tool that we use to build a building or it can be a weapon of destruction that we throw through a window. Things get further complicated as we are bombarded daily with advertising that is selling us discontentment.
Join Those Crazy Bible Study Guys as it rains money during this portion of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount!

In Episode 33, Those Crazy Bible Study Guys show how dealing with nail biting can be a strategy with fasting! They discover how fasting is a heart matter to draw closer to God, not a public sacrifice to show people how you are good at practicing your faith. It's not a social media showcase! Would you rather have a million likes from people of the world about how you are fasting or 1 ginormous eternal like from your Father in heaven!!!
Those Crazy Bible Study Guys discuss how fasting is not just food but can be from those things that are distracting you from growing closer to God with the point being that you practice drawing strength from God in your weaknesses.
This episode offers profound insights on fasting as a spiritual discipline - it’s purpose of nurturing our connection with God. It also sheds light on intention and motivation in our actions, the difference between showing off piety and sincerely seeking a connection with the divine. Tune in and learn how to leverage the power of fasting as a spiritual discipline and cherish the gift of the present day.

In Episode 32, Those Crazy Bible Study Guys continue to unpack the Lord’s Prayer which Jesus used to simplify how to pray! They unpack “and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” and the IT>IF formula comes into play again as they translate that into “Don’t feed (satan’s) the IFs, but focus on the IT (is written).” Or “Starve the IF, feed on the IT.” Satan’s IFs are just suggestions that, if we don’t recognize those and focus on the IT of what is written in God’s word, then WE are the one’s that take the IF and spiral! Those Crazy Bible Study Guys wrap it up with reminders and clarity between Needs and Wants and remind of us of the ACTS method of prayer (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication).
This episode is an ideal listen for anyone who has ever found prayer challenging or elusive, and serves as a gentle reminder to cherish the gift of today and maintain a simple, sincere conversation with your heavenly Father.

In episode 31, Those Crazy Bible Study Guys see the progression of the Sermon on the Mount of going from renovation of your heart to building it through giving and prayer! Jesus knew we needed some help with prayer and, once again, he not only guides us but keeps it simple! It's not treating God as a genie in the bottle or to check a box that we prayed but pouring out of your heart having an open, honest conversation! Dale adds to the conversation by sharing the acronym ACTS (see below) as another way to help us with prayer. Join Those Crazy Bible Study Guys as they tap into the strength, wisdom and compassion of God through the power of prayer!
ACTS Prayer
Adoration - recognize, thank and be in awe of God.
Confession - lay it all out there to God to clean up and quit carrying those sins.
Thanksgiving - being grateful for all God has done and is doing in your life.
Supplication - being honest with God on your needs and the needs of others.
With the key here being God's will, not ours, be done!

We use to study the bible out of obligation or "Christian duty" but then we found out that getting together with a friend, going with the flow on how much scripture you read, getting insights from those much smarter about scripture (from a Life Application bible) and just having some curiosity and open, honest conversation was the formula of turning our "duty" into something we not only enjoyed but looked forward to doing! Listen in on one of our studies together and see if this style of studying the bible inspires you to have fun studying the scriptures and helps you grow closer to God! :)
