In Episode 32, Those Crazy Bible Study Guys continue to unpack the Lord’s Prayer which Jesus used to simplify how to pray!   They unpack “and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one”  and the IT>IF formula comes into play again as they translate that into “Don’t feed (satan’s) the IFs, but focus on the IT (is written).”   Or “Starve the IF, feed on the IT.”   Satan’s IFs are just suggestions that, if we don’t recognize those and focus on the IT of what is written in God’s word, then WE are the one’s that take the IF and spiral!  Those Crazy Bible Study Guys wrap it up with reminders and clarity between Needs and Wants and remind of us of the ACTS method of prayer (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication).

In episode 28, Those Crazy Bible Study Guys get into how we are designed to fight or flight which make retaliation a natural response!   They further learn that "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" was actually a term used in the courts of Jesus' day for guidance as to how to assess punishment on a convicted criminal.   While joking about a fun level of retaliation at home trying to unexpectedly scare our spouses, the Holy Spirit inspires a mic drop on this episode: we learn why we need to come to God in prayer in situations where we want to retaliate because it is a whole other level of love we need, a supernatural love, that Jesus showed that day on the cross as he asked for God's forgiveness on those who falsely accused Him and brutally brought Him to a wrongful death.

In episode 27, we will give you an iron-clad handshake that it's more than the wedding alter that Jesus wants our vows to be commitments others can rely on!   Those Crazy Bible Study Guys really dive into Jesus' desire for us to say Yes or No as those are strong commitments either way.  They then dive into learning in their own lives how sometimes it's difficult to say no when you are asked to do something because you don't want to let someone down or hurt their feelings.  However, saying that difficult "no" is not only better than saying yes now (only to break your promise later), it frees you from a vow you know you can't keep as well as allows the person asking to find someone who can provide a committed "yes!"
