Our Mission is Simple...
That one heart would come to know or grow in Christ.

Two guys that love the bible, having fun and going off script invite you into their bible study they have been doing together for over 12 years! Instead of reading a whole chapter at a time, they bite off a small piece of scripture that they deliver to you just like a pizza...in 30 minutes or less!!! Using their innate curiosity and the help of their Life Application bible footnotes, their bible study is refreshing and fun! They are not bible scholars by any means but just two regular, everyday guys who turned their bible study from an obligation or Christian duty into a fun time that they look forward to and actually grow closer to God during!
Their hope is that it will provide you with a refreshing way to get into God’s word, help you see how using the Life Application bible can help you gain further insight into the scriptures and maybe prompt you to find a friend or two that you can do a similar style of bible study on your own!
Our tempo in 30 minutes or less for each episode is to:
* Open with a small discussion and prayer
* Read a small bite of scripture
* See if there are any verses that pop out to us or we have any inspired insight on.
* Read the Life Application footnotes for the scripture that was read and discuss what was shared and/or any ”ah ha” moments!
* Close in prayer.
Give us a listen and we guarantee you will have some fun with us (or at least be able to poke some fun at us)! Be great and enjoy the gift of today! :)

In this episode the hosts catch up with lighthearted banter about coffee and the weather before diving back into Luke 1. They recap Luke’s careful reporting and the opening of John the Baptist’s story through Zechariah and Elizabeth, a couple past childbearing years who receive an astonishing announcement.
An angel appears to Zechariah in the Holy Place and declares, “Do not be afraid—your prayer has been heard.” The angel foretells that Elizabeth will bear a son named John, who will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before birth, live under a vow of consecration, and prepare the way for the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah.
The episode pauses on Zechariah’s natural question—“How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years?”—leaving listeners on a cliffhanger while highlighting Luke’s attention to eyewitness detail and the authenticity of the account.
Key takeaways emphasize that God answers prayer in his own time and way, that miraculous events can come in unexpected circumstances, and that faith sometimes wrestles with doubt. The hosts encourage listeners to continue praying and trusting God’s timing as the story unfolds in the next episode.

Episode 195 walks through Luke 1:5 onward, introducing Zechariah and Elizabeth—righteous, childless, and serving in the temple—whose lives are changed when an angel appears to promise the birth of John. The hosts set the scene with holiday anticipation and personal reflections on patience, answered prayer, and obedience from the heart.
They explain the priestly division of Abijah, the significance of being chosen by lot to burn incense, and how Gabriel’s visible appearance marks a pivotal moment in the lead-up to Jesus’ birth. Themes include God’s timing, faithfulness in impossible situations, and how small events prepare the way for greater promises.

In this episode the hosts introduce the Gospel of Luke, highlighting Luke’s background as a physician, a Gentile author, and the author of Acts. They discuss Luke’s careful, investigative approach to writing and his reliance on eyewitness accounts to provide a historically grounded account of Jesus’ life.
The conversation covers Luke’s purpose in addressing Theophilus, his emphasis on the humanity of Jesus, and the rich detail Luke includes about Jesus’ birth, childhood, ministry, and concern for marginalized people. The hosts also summarize Luke’s narrative arc—from Jerusalem and Nazareth to Galilee, Bethany, and the crucifixion and resurrection—and note the gospel’s strong historical and archaeological support.
The episode encourages listeners to investigate the claims of Christianity for themselves, using evidence and study to grow in understanding. It closes with prayer and a teaser for the next episode about the angel’s promise of John the Baptist to Zechariah.

In this episode the hosts begin a study of the Gospel of Luke, highlighting Luke’s background as a Greek physician, a Gentile Christian, and a close companion of Paul who also wrote Acts. They explain that Luke wrote as a careful historian around AD 60, likely for Theophilus, and emphasized Jesus’ humanity as well as his divinity.
The episode summarizes Luke’s method and sources: eyewitness interviews, historical detail, and careful research that complement Matthew and Mark. Key facts shared include Luke’s interest in dates, symptoms and causes (reflecting his medical perspective), and his unique emphasis on women, hymns, angels, and prayer.
Major events covered in Luke’s narrative are introduced: angelic announcements to Zechariah and Mary, John the Baptist’s role, Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem, shepherds at the manger, dedication at the temple (Simeon and Anna), Jesus teaching at age twelve, his baptism, temptation, public ministry, and the sending of the disciples.
The hosts outline Luke’s structure: (1) Birth and preparation of Jesus, (2) Jesus’ message and ministry — including Galilean teaching, the journey to Jerusalem, and ministry in Jerusalem — and (3) Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension. They note that Luke contains material not found in other gospels and often provides fuller detail.
Five major themes are emphasized: Jesus Christ as Savior (Son of Man and Son of God), the historical reliability of the account, Jesus’ love for people, his compassion for the poor and outcast, and the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. The hosts close by encouraging listeners to read Luke’s carefully recorded account and to trust its message of salvation.

This episode examines the disputed ending of Mark (16:9–20), explaining why some early manuscripts omit these verses and summarizing common theories about the added passage. TCBSGs walk through the brief accounts of Jesus appearing to Mary Magdalene, two travelers on the road, and the disciples (including Thomas), noting the initial doubt and emotional reactions. They discuss the Great Commission, the meaning of accompanying signs, and clarify that baptism is an expression of faith rather than the sole means of salvation. The episode concludes with Jesus’ ascension, the disciples’ mission to spread the gospel, and a reminder that following Christ means serving others with the power given by the resurrection.

This episode walks through Mark 16:1–8, as Mary Magdalene and the women discover the stone rolled away, meet the angel, and hear the proclamation: "He has risen." It captures their fear, bewilderment, and the angel's instruction to tell the disciples—especially Peter—that Jesus goes before them to Galilee.
The hosts reflect on the resurrection's meaning: Jesus kept his promise, offers hope of new life, and commissions the church to share the good news despite obstacles.

In this episode TCBSGs read Mark 15 and recount Joseph of Arimathea securing Jesus' body, the women who stayed at the tomb, and the stone rolled across the entrance. They highlight the burial details and the Roman guard that make the empty-tomb account historically significant.
The discussion examines common alternative explanations for the empty tomb and presents evidence that counters them, inviting listeners to consider the historical and spiritual importance of Jesus' death and resurrection.

We use to study the bible out of obligation or "Christian duty" but then we found out that getting together with a friend, going with the flow on how much scripture you read, getting insights from those much smarter about scripture (from a Life Application bible) and just having some curiosity and open, honest conversation was the formula of turning our "duty" into something we not only enjoyed but looked forward to doing! Listen in on one of our studies together and see if this style of studying the bible inspires you to have fun studying the scriptures and helps you grow closer to God! :)
