Our Mission is Simple...
That one heart would come to know or grow in Christ.

Two guys that love the bible, having fun and going off script invite you into their bible study they have been doing together for over 12 years! Instead of reading a whole chapter at a time, they bite off a small piece of scripture that they deliver to you just like a pizza...in 30 minutes or less!!! Using their innate curiosity and the help of their Life Application bible footnotes, their bible study is refreshing and fun! They are not bible scholars by any means but just two regular, everyday guys who turned their bible study from an obligation or Christian duty into a fun time that they look forward to and actually grow closer to God during!
Their hope is that it will provide you with a refreshing way to get into God’s word, help you see how using the Life Application bible can help you gain further insight into the scriptures and maybe prompt you to find a friend or two that you can do a similar style of bible study on your own!
Our tempo in 30 minutes or less for each episode is to:
* Open with a small discussion and prayer
* Read a small bite of scripture
* See if there are any verses that pop out to us or we have any inspired insight on.
* Read the Life Application footnotes for the scripture that was read and discuss what was shared and/or any ”ah ha” moments!
* Close in prayer.
Give us a listen and we guarantee you will have some fun with us (or at least be able to poke some fun at us)! Be great and enjoy the gift of today! :)

This episode opens with a warm personal story about restoring a bike and bringing it back to its original owner, a "full circle" moment that leads into a study of Luke 4:38–44.
We read how Jesus heals Simon Peter’s mother‑in‑law instantly and then she immediately focuses on serving, then lays hands on many who are sick and casts out demons who cry out that he is the Son of God. The hosts explore Jesus’ authority, the importance of personal touch in healing, and why he silenced the demons to reveal his identity on God’s timetable.
The episode also highlights Jesus seeking solitude at dawn for prayer and renewal, and his commitment to proclaim the good news to other towns as his mission. Practical applications include the meaning of complete healing, the call to serve others after being restored, the value of quiet time with God, and respecting each person’s journey of faith.
Listeners are encouraged to reflect on service, prayer, and sharing the gospel as they go about their day.

In this episode the hosts walk through Luke 4:31–37, where Jesus teaches in Capernaum with surprising authority and drives a demon out of a man in the synagogue. The crowd is amazed, and word quickly spreads about his power.
The conversation highlights key themes: demons recognize Jesus’ identity, his words carry authority, and even places of worship can be infiltrated by evil. The hosts reflect on Jesus’ strategic ministry, his clear and decisive response, and the dramatic, nonviolent healing of the man.
They also share personal reflections on the Bible’s adaptability—how scripture reveals new insights at different life stages—and warn against judging people by their past. The episode encourages listeners to lean into scripture, trust Jesus’ authority, and let God shape their perspective and future.
Ultimately the episode invites listeners to trust Christ, study the Bible for ongoing "aha" moments, and share the good news with others.

In this episode the hosts read and unpack Luke 4, where Jesus declares the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy in his hearing and is initially praised, then rejected by his own townspeople. They discuss his provocative remark, "Physician, heal yourself," and the examples of Elijah and Elisha sent to outsiders, which inflames the crowd.
The conversation explores the themes of hometown expectations, rejection of prophets, the surprising reach of God’s favor beyond familiar groups, and how people’s past perceptions can obscure new transformations. The hosts add historical context and practical reflections to clarify the passage.
Listeners are invited to consider personal lessons about judgment, patience, and witnessing to change, and encouraged to share the good news of Jesus. The episode blends Bible study, honest questions, and pastoral insight.

In this episode we read and discuss Luke 4:14–21, as Jesus returns to Galilee "in the power of the Spirit," teaches in synagogues, and reads Isaiah 61, boldly declaring that the prophecy is fulfilled in their hearing.
The hosts explore why Luke includes many unique parables, how synagogues functioned as community centers, and how Jesus’ early ministry connects with events like his baptism, temptation, and the wedding at Cana.
They react to the powerful moment in Nazareth when everyone listens closely and Jesus announces his mission, setting up a dramatic cliffhanger about the hometown response.
The episode blends biblical background, Google-researched context, personal reflection, and prayer, encouraging listeners to ask questions, dive into Scripture, and grow in faith.

In this episode the hosts dive into Luke chapter 4, exploring Jesus’ 40-day temptation in the wilderness. They reflect on how the four Gospels offer different perspectives on the same story and share personal reactions and footnote insights as they read through the passage.
The conversation walks through the three temptations—turning stones to bread, taking worldly power, and testing God’s protection—highlighting how Satan targets needs, pride, and shortcuts. The hosts emphasize Jesus’ use of Scripture to resist each temptation and warn that the devil knows and can misuse God’s word.
Practical lessons include the need to study the Bible in context, recognize when temptation attacks strength as well as weakness, and rely on God’s Word and the Holy Spirit to stand firm. The episode closes with a challenge to stay alert, put on the armor of God, and share the gospel.

In this episode we revisit the pivotal moment from episode 16 where a simple insight—"It is greater than if"—changed the hosts' understanding and direction. Using Luke 4:1–4 as the starting point, they explore Jesus being led by the Spirit into the wilderness, fasting for forty days, and facing Satan's opening temptation.
The conversation highlights how the devil uses “if” to sow doubt and question identity, while Jesus answers with the certainty of Scripture: "It is written, man shall not live on bread alone." The hosts reflect on how this moment sharpened their Bible study and became a lasting ministry catchphrase, illustrated with a memorable compass/true-north analogy.
Footnotes discussed include the link between Adam and Eve’s fall and Jesus’ testing, why temptation can follow spiritual highs, and the power of Scripture as both defense and the only necessary offensive weapon. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, promising a deeper look at the coming verses and practical application: stand on God’s Word, point to true north, and rely on Scripture when facing the ‘ifs’ in life.

In this episode the hosts introduce themselves with personal ancestry stories, then dive into Luke 3:23 and read the genealogy of Jesus from Mary’s perspective. They discuss the differences between Matthew’s and Luke’s genealogies, note that Jesus began his ministry around age 30, and reflect on why lineage mattered historically and theologically.
The conversation emphasizes the ripple effect of individual lives — how ordinary names in a genealogy contributed to God’s plan — and encourages listeners that their lives and choices matter. The hosts share practical applications about purpose, breaking negative family patterns, and trusting God’s timing.
The episode mixes humor, honest confession about mispronouncing names, and heartfelt prayer, closing with encouragement to live with eternal purpose and a preview of upcoming discussion in episode 213.

This episode reflects on the podcast's commitment to consistency while the hosts plan a brief break, and then dives into Luke 3:15–22. The hosts explain the meaning of John's water baptism, the difference between baptism with water and the baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire, and why Jesus chose to be baptized.
Key images are unpacked: John's statement about not being worthy to untie Jesus' sandals (a sign of humility and a cultural reference to priestly and levirate customs), the winnowing fork that separates wheat from chaff (illustrating judgment and fruitfulness), and the arrival of the Holy Spirit as a dove with God's voice affirming Jesus as His beloved Son.
The episode also touches on John's bold rebuke of Herod, the cost of speaking truth, and the hosts' personal dreams and goals for the podcast—balancing ministry, family, work, and the desire to serve and encourage others. It closes with a call to repentance, faithful living, and courageous witness modeled after John and Jesus.

We use to study the bible out of obligation or "Christian duty" but then we found out that getting together with a friend, going with the flow on how much scripture you read, getting insights from those much smarter about scripture (from a Life Application bible) and just having some curiosity and open, honest conversation was the formula of turning our "duty" into something we not only enjoyed but looked forward to doing! Listen in on one of our studies together and see if this style of studying the bible inspires you to have fun studying the scriptures and helps you grow closer to God! :)
