Our Mission is Simple...
That one heart would come to know or grow in Christ.

Two guys that love the bible, having fun and going off script invite you into their bible study they have been doing together for over 12 years! Instead of reading a whole chapter at a time, they bite off a small piece of scripture that they deliver to you just like a pizza...in 30 minutes or less!!! Using their innate curiosity and the help of their Life Application bible footnotes, their bible study is refreshing and fun! They are not bible scholars by any means but just two regular, everyday guys who turned their bible study from an obligation or Christian duty into a fun time that they look forward to and actually grow closer to God during!
Their hope is that it will provide you with a refreshing way to get into God’s word, help you see how using the Life Application bible can help you gain further insight into the scriptures and maybe prompt you to find a friend or two that you can do a similar style of bible study on your own!
Our tempo in 30 minutes or less for each episode is to:
* Open with a small discussion and prayer
* Read a small bite of scripture
* See if there are any verses that pop out to us or we have any inspired insight on.
* Read the Life Application footnotes for the scripture that was read and discuss what was shared and/or any ”ah ha” moments!
* Close in prayer.
Give us a listen and we guarantee you will have some fun with us (or at least be able to poke some fun at us)! Be great and enjoy the gift of today! :)

We'll be back right after these technical difficulties. The hosts open with a humorous account of login problems and a shout-out to Canva before moving into spiritual reflection. They emphasize the value of studying the Bible with another person and recall last episode's story of the sinful woman who anointed Jesus' feet.
The episode reads and discusses Luke 8:1–3, highlighting the presence of women—Mary Magdalene, Joanna (wife of Chuzas, manager of Herod's household), Susanna—and many others who supported Jesus and the disciples out of their own means. The hosts explore how remarkable it was culturally for women and Gentiles to be named as ministry supporters, explain Luke's attention to detail as a non‑Jewish doctor and historian, and encourage listeners that everyone can participate in mission work, including by providing financial support.
They then introduce Jesus' parable of the sower (Luke 8:4–8), summarizing how seed falls on different soils—path, rocky ground, thorns, and good soil—and why the farmer still scatters seed widely. The hosts stress that the yield depends on the soil, not on the seed or the sower, and encourage listeners not to stop planting spiritual seeds even when results are uncertain.
The episode closes with practical encouragement to keep spreading the gospel, to view people with compassion, and to continue supporting ministry in visible and behind‑the‑scenes ways, paired with a prayer and an invitation to share the podcast.

In this episode the hosts celebrate milestones and dive into Luke 7:36–50, the moving story of a sinful woman who seeks Jesus' forgiveness. She slips into a Pharisee's house, weeps over Jesus' feet, wipes them with her hair, kisses them, and pours out expensive perfume from an alabaster jar.
The conversation explores the cultural context—foot washing, reclining at dinner, and the value of the perfume—then follows Jesus' response to the Pharisee Simon. Jesus tells a parable about forgiven debts to show that the woman’s great love proves her deep gratitude and faith, leading him to declare her sins forgiven.
Key themes include humility, repentance, grace, and the contrast between religious pride and heartfelt faith. The hosts reflect on how forgiveness produces overflowing love and invite listeners to consider the breadth of God’s mercy, closing the study with prayer and encouragement to come to Jesus with open, repentant hearts.

This episode resumes a cliffhanger from the previous episode and reflects on technical hiccups that reminded the hosts of God’s purpose and presence.
They explore John the Baptist’s doubt and Jesus’ compassionate reply — pointing to observable deeds (the blind see, the lame walk, lepers healed, the deaf hear, the dead raised, and the good news preached to the poor) as proof of the Messiah.
Jesus honors John as a great prophet while explaining the new reality of the kingdom: those in the kingdom have a fuller understanding because of Christ. The hosts contrast the repentant crowds and tax collectors with the Pharisees’ hypocrisy and refusal to accept God’s purpose.
The episode closes with a call to examine our hearts, seek God’s plan rather than force our own, and share the good news of redemption and wisdom proven by changed lives.

In this episode hosts laugh through morning technical difficulties (including one unbeatable SpongeBob “four hours later” impression) before pivoting to a deeper faith conversation. They share a memory about a gift of two rings that beautifully illustrates how God is the unbreakable ring and we sometimes detach ourselves, but can always reconnect.
Turning to Scripture, they walk through Luke 7:18–23 where John the Baptist, even after witnessing Jesus, expresses doubt and sends messengers to ask if Jesus is the expected Messiah. Jesus answers by pointing to observable deeds—healing the blind, the lame, the leprous, the deaf, raising the dead, and preaching good news to the poor—as proof of his messianic work.
The hosts emphasize that doubts are natural and welcomed by God, who responds in ways we can understand. They encourage listeners to admit questions to God, seek answers through prayer, Scripture, and community, and to actively reconnect with God when they feel disconnected.
Episode takeaways: it’s okay to question, evidence of Jesus’ work is tangible, and you can always wrap your “key ring” back around God through intentional spiritual practices.

In this episode the hosts—back in good health and cheerful—explore Luke 7:11–17, where Jesus meets a widow in the town of Nain and raises her only son from the dead. They read the passage, pray, and reflect on the scene with its large crowd and the dramatic turnaround from grief to praise.
The conversation focuses on Jesus' compassion: he sees the widow, tells her “Don’t cry,” touches the bier, and calls the young man to life. The hosts discuss social details of the story—how a widow with no son would be vulnerable—and note that the crowd’s witness made the event undeniable to the town.
They connect the miracle to broader themes: Jesus’ refusal to put people in buckets, his inclusion of the marginalized, and the story’s spiritual meaning as a picture of salvation—God raising the spiritually dead to new life. Practical reflections include how compassion moves us to act and how Jesus makes salvation personal.
The episode closes with encouragement to recognize Jesus’ compassion in our lives and to respond by pursuing a personal relationship with him.

Luke 7 retells a powerful account of a Roman centurion who demonstrates extraordinary faith. When his valued servant is near death, the centurion sends Jewish elders to ask Jesus for help. He humbly insists Jesus need not enter his home, declaring, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself; I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.” Jesus is amazed at this faith and heals the servant from afar, showing that God’s mercy crosses cultural, social, and religious boundaries.
This episode explores the centurion’s humility, his unexpected turn to Jesus despite being a Gentile and a man of power, and the lesson that God fills the void in every heart. It challenges listeners to recognize that faith can come from unlikely places and calls believers to reach out across barriers to help others find what’s missing in their lives.

In this episode the hosts start with a light conversation about being sick, the human impulse to blame others, and how that ties into their recent discussion about not judging. They then turn to Luke 6:43–45 to explore Jesus' teaching that "the mouth speaks what the heart is full of," using the image of good and bad trees to show how our words and actions reveal what’s inside.
Next they examine Luke 6:46–49, where Jesus compares those who hear and obey his words to a builder who lays a foundation on rock. The hosts explain the difference between houses built on rock and sand and why a strong spiritual foundation matters when life's storms come.
The episode mixes practical application with personal stories: the importance of daily time in Scripture and prayer, honest self-assessment of motives, and slowly building faith through consistent spiritual habits. They encourage listeners to start small, dig their roots deep, and rely on Jesus as the cornerstone.
Overall the conversation combines humor, real-life examples, and biblical teaching to challenge listeners to examine their hearts, speak from what they store there, and invest in a lasting foundation of faith.

In this episode two hosts chat casually about their different climates—falling iguanas and exploding trees make for a funny opener—and then dive into Jesus’ teaching in Luke 6:37 about not judging others. They read and reflect on the parable of the speck and the plank, emphasizing self-reflection, humility, and the importance of removing our own faults before criticizing others.
The conversation explores practical examples—workplace judgment, road impatience, and everyday frustrations—to show how quick assumptions hurt relationships. The hosts stress that a forgiving spirit shows we have received God’s forgiveness, and that the measure we use toward others will be measured back to us.
They conclude by reminding listeners that sin is sin, that we should look for trustworthy spiritual leaders, and that true faith grows through confession, compassion, and love of God and neighbor. The episode ends with prayer and an encouragement to practice mercy instead of judgment.

We use to study the bible out of obligation or "Christian duty" but then we found out that getting together with a friend, going with the flow on how much scripture you read, getting insights from those much smarter about scripture (from a Life Application bible) and just having some curiosity and open, honest conversation was the formula of turning our "duty" into something we not only enjoyed but looked forward to doing! Listen in on one of our studies together and see if this style of studying the bible inspires you to have fun studying the scriptures and helps you grow closer to God! :)
