In this episode Jim and Dale dive into Luke 21 (also compared with Matthew 24 and Mark 13) to explore Jesus’ words about the future. They unpack Jesus’ prophecy that the temple would be destroyed, how that was fulfilled in A.D. 70, and what the larger signs of the age—false messiahs, wars, earthquakes, famines, and pestilence—mean for believers today.
The hosts discuss the reality of persecution, betrayal, and suffering that Christians may face, but also emphasize Jesus’ promise to be with his followers—giving them the words and wisdom they need, preserving them spiritually, and assuring eternal life even amid danger.
Using relatable analogies (including a Jetsons/technology comparison and a food/recipe metaphor), they encourage listeners to know Scripture deeply, stay discerning of false teachers, and live ready each day. They close with a call to share the gospel boldly, practical encouragement to be prepared, and an invitation to connect via social media or email at thosecrazybiblestudyguys@gmail.com.
