Our Mission is Simple...
That one heart would come to know or grow in Christ.

Two guys that love the bible, having fun and going off script invite you into their bible study they have been doing together for over 12 years! Instead of reading a whole chapter at a time, they bite off a small piece of scripture that they deliver to you just like a pizza...in 30 minutes or less!!! Using their innate curiosity and the help of their Life Application bible footnotes, their bible study is refreshing and fun! They are not bible scholars by any means but just two regular, everyday guys who turned their bible study from an obligation or Christian duty into a fun time that they look forward to and actually grow closer to God during!
Their hope is that it will provide you with a refreshing way to get into God’s word, help you see how using the Life Application bible can help you gain further insight into the scriptures and maybe prompt you to find a friend or two that you can do a similar style of bible study on your own!
Our tempo in 30 minutes or less for each episode is to:
* Open with a small discussion and prayer
* Read a small bite of scripture
* See if there are any verses that pop out to us or we have any inspired insight on.
* Read the Life Application footnotes for the scripture that was read and discuss what was shared and/or any ”ah ha” moments!
* Close in prayer.
Give us a listen and we guarantee you will have some fun with us (or at least be able to poke some fun at us)! Be great and enjoy the gift of today! :)

TCBSGs share a lighthearted opening about a recent trip to Walt Disney World, their attention-grabbing podcast Christmas sweaters, and meeting listeners in person while handing out cards and QR codes. They repeat a memorable tagline: delivering a compact, 30-minute Bible study like a pizza delivery.
The podcast's mission is simple and inviting: two ordinary guys who love Jesus studying scripture together to help others come to know God or grow in their faith. They describe how their long-running Bible study and podcast provide accountability and accessible life application using the Life Application Study Bible.
This episode focuses on Luke chapter 3, where John the Baptist emerges in the wilderness to preach a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The hosts highlight historical context—rulers like Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate, and Herod—and explain how John’s message fulfills Isaiah’s prophecy to "prepare the way" for the Lord.
The practical takeaway is clear: repentance involves turning away from sin and turning toward God, and the salvation John announced is offered to all people. The hosts close in prayer, inviting listeners to respond, seek God, and join them on the journey of growth and faith.

During a yearly Passover trip to Jerusalem, Mary and Joseph realize their twelve-year-old son Jesus is missing. After a day of travel they return to search and, three days later, find him in the temple courts speaking with religious teachers. The teachers are amazed at his understanding and answers.
When questioned by his parents, Jesus replies that he must be in his Father’s house, hinting at his unique relationship with God while still honoring his earthly parents. The episode shows both the everyday realities of family life and the extraordinary wisdom Jesus displayed even as a child.
The story emphasizes themes of growth, responsibility, and the balance between devotion to God and commitment to family. It also marks an early glimpse of Jesus’ identity and preparation for his later ministry.

TCBSGs trade stories about over-the-top Christmas outdoor lights, HOA concerns, and a circuit-blowing mishap before pivoting to their Bible study in Luke 2.
They recap Jesus’ presentation at the temple, focusing on Simeon’s prophetic declaration that Jesus is salvation for all nations and the comfort and hope this brought to Mary and Joseph. They emphasize God’s gift of grace and the invitation to accept salvation freely.
Next they examine Anna, a devoted prophetess and lifelong worshiper, who confirms the significance of the child and speaks about the coming redemption of Jerusalem. The hosts highlight the value of elder wisdom, the role of widows in the church, and the power of faithful devotion and prayer.
The episode closes with practical application—befriending and learning from older believers, listening to others’ stories as a way to share faith, and encouragement to open one’s heart to God for hope, peace, and salvation.

In this episode the hosts unpack Luke 2:25-35, focusing on Simeon’s prophetic encounter with the infant Jesus. They discuss the movement of the Holy Spirit, the cultural context of the temple dedication, and how Simeon’s words affirmed Mary and Joseph amid their exhaustion and uncertainty. Key themes include the universality of Jesus’ mission as a light to the Gentiles, the emotional weight of Simeon’s blessing, and the bittersweet prophecy that a sword would pierce Mary’s soul. The conversation blends scriptural insight, historical notes, and personal reflections about faith, affirmation, and the heavy cost of salvation.

In this episode Jim and Dale pick up the Christmas story in Luke as Mary and Joseph bring newborn Jesus to the temple. They discuss the eighth-day circumcision and the purification rites required by the law of Moses, including the modest offering of two doves that highlights the family’s humility.
The hosts explore context and background—why firstborn redemption mattered, the social meaning of circumcision, and how Jesus’ obedience to the law foreshadows his role as the fulfillment of the covenant. They also revisit Elizabeth and Zechariah’s story, John the Baptist’s birth, and Mary’s faithful response to God’s plan.
Throughout the episode Jim and Dale reflect on themes of humility, faithful obedience, God’s timing, and how ordinary people are used in extraordinary ways. They close with prayer and set up the continuation of the temple story with Simeon and Anna.

In this episode recorded during a snowy, pre-Christmas time, the hosts dive into Luke 2:8–20 and explore the shepherds’ encounter with an angelic announcement of Jesus’ birth. They read the passage, reflect on the shepherds’ fear turning to joy as a host of heavenly angels praise God, and consider Mary’s quiet reflection on these events.
Throughout the conversation they highlight the small details that make the story meaningful — how God chose humble shepherds to hear the news, the surprising symbolism of shepherds meeting the Lamb of God, and the power of repeated confirmation in growing faith. They tie those themes to practical takeaways about sharing the good news and noticing God’s work in everyday life.
The episode blends Bible study, personal reflection, and worshipful response, encouraging listeners to savor the story, be amazed by heaven’s praise, and tell others about the hope and peace announced that night.

In this episode the hosts celebrate the story behind Christmas, focusing on Luke 2:1–7 and the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. They discuss the lead-up to his birth — including Mary and Joseph’s journey, the connection with Elizabeth and John the Baptist, and the reason we call it the reason for the season.
They examine the historical details Luke includes: Caesar Augustus’s census, the journey of about 70 miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem because Joseph belonged to the house of David, and the specific mention of Quirinius as governor. The episode highlights how these facts anchor the story in history, fulfill prophecy, and set the scene of a king born in humble circumstances — wrapped in cloth and laid in a manger because there was no guest room.
The hosts reflect on themes of humility, God’s purpose in discomfort, and the invitation to let Jesus grow up in your life. They also tease the next episode, which will dive into the shepherds’ visit and the fuller details Luke provides about that night.

In this episode the hosts walk through Luke 1, celebrating the birth of John the Baptist and the moment Zechariah regains his speech. Filled with the Holy Spirit, Zechariah praises God and prophesies the coming of a Savior who will redeem Israel and fulfill the covenant made to Abraham.
The episode explains Zechariah’s prophecy that John will prepare the way for the Lord, bringing knowledge of salvation and forgiveness of sins. The hosts highlight the imagery of the "rising sun" and summarize John’s life growing strong in spirit in the wilderness until he appears publicly.
Alongside the Bible study, the hosts offer prayer for persecuted believers, reflect on the gift of religious freedom, and give a practical life application: begin each day by praising God and sharing the good news with others.

We use to study the bible out of obligation or "Christian duty" but then we found out that getting together with a friend, going with the flow on how much scripture you read, getting insights from those much smarter about scripture (from a Life Application bible) and just having some curiosity and open, honest conversation was the formula of turning our "duty" into something we not only enjoyed but looked forward to doing! Listen in on one of our studies together and see if this style of studying the bible inspires you to have fun studying the scriptures and helps you grow closer to God! :)
